Beginning his career at distinguished financial institutions such as UBS, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has opened the doors to the complex infrastructure of the regulatory and legal structure of the securities industry.
Later, Mr. Shipkevich litigated as Claims Counsel for the Financial Institutions Claim Division at the American International Group, Inc. where he supervised complex professional liability litigations against broker-dealers, banks, insurance companies, insurance brokers and agents, regularly negotiated and settled claims, lawsuits, and arbitrations in federal and state courts, including NASD, NYSE and AAA forums. As an Attorney at Morrison Mahoney, LLP, one of the largest law firms in New York, Mr. Shipkevich litigated complex insurance coverage, financial institutions, general liability, and product liability cases as well as advised on litigation strategies through trial, settlement and mediation.
In 2006, Mr. Shipkevich was elected as Vice President and General Counsel at Capital Market Services, LLC where he became actively involved in the multifaceted structure of the futures industry and was responsible for the supervision of the firm’s offices located in New York, Bermuda, Saint-Petersburg, Tokyo and Shanghai.
Mr. Shipkevich obtained his JD from Hofstra University School of Law, where he was a founder and Managing Editor of the Journal of International Business & Law. Prior to that, he received a BA in Economics and Political Science at SUNY Binghamtom, during which time he was a Merit Scholar.
